Science world and pizza

We took public transit to science world. On the way to the sky train station I saw a skinny house next to a wide house.
At science world they had four tableaus each about a historical, notable person. They were made of clay and the way the perspective shifted within the tableau was cool. E and I liked them a lot. They were displayed in glass boxes so were hard to photograph.
A big human hamster wheel that T really liked. His legs are a blur!
On the way home we were all to hungry to make the walk back all the way home from the sky train station without getting a slice of pizzas. Side by side pizza places. Two of us in each. Funny.
This Commercial Drive neighbourhood feels a lot like Fernwood.

Vancouver - Food Related

So, Vancouver still has Safeway around. And you know what that means! Yes, it's the superior Lucerne eggnog.
We ate at Fat Burger tonight.

They wrapped mine up in lettuce instead of using a bun.

Christmas prep

Shopping trip by bike. Note the other longtail bike behind our two.
The 26 pound turkey.
I cut it up to cook it. Only took three hours that way.

Vancouver house swap.

Ferry ride over.
We got a sunset view.
Cool kitchen.

Neighbourhood Solstice gathering.

Our neighbours hosted a solstice open house tonight. It was lovely. They had live music and lots of tasty food. I went around and purposely introduced myself to people I didn't know.
I really liked their alcohol fire.
And now I know a bunch more of our neighbours.

My son and his friends in choir in grade 6.
The same four boys now in grade eight. They are maturing.

Location scouting

I went downtown on my bike to do some Christmas shopping and did a bit of location scouting for our next movie while I was easily maneuverable on my bike.
This is Bastion Square.
Interesting doorway.
Elevated doorway.
Cool tree plus my cool bike.
Waddington Alley with wooden cobblestones.
Cool girders.

Jeff also took photos in the basement corridors at the hospital for me. Pipes/industrial.
Blankly blankness.

Medieval fair at middle school

All the grade eight French immersion classes did a medieval fair as a school assignment. They designed and printed money, cast pewter coins, chose what their market stall would sell and priced all the ingredients to figure out what to charge.
J made Cornish pasties.
He and Jeff baked all evening.
This is him at his stall. He sold out by the end of the night.

A Poem about November

November

2014‐12‐06 3:59 PM

I hear the rain
It's November
I see the darkness
It's November
I feel myself shutting down It's November
Don't talk to me,
It's November.
Crawl under blankets, hide my head, Don't ask me to do anything.
I don't want to smile.
I don't want to dress up.
I don't want to sparkle.
Please just crawl in my warm dim nest and enfold me, Breathe with me,
Stroke my hair,
Hold my feet.

Family bowling

This year Jeff's work folks organized family bowling and dinner at the Galloping Goose Grill right after. That was Sunday evening. I think it was fun.
This is us at the dinner table after the bowling.
This is E's dessert plate customized by her. She did the words and the bird picture. It was served with just a puddle of chocolate sauce.
Cheers,
Lise
