Blooming tree three days on

Now look at this tree!

It must be spring. 

Also, the chickens have started laying again. Four eggs yesterday, which is up from one or none each day for the past two months.

Weekend away near Sooke.

We rented a cabin out past Sooke this long weekend. Family day gave us Monday off. We went for a hike on the Juan de Fuca trail, in the rain, of course. Down to Mystic beach which is still beautiful in the rain. 

We made a colourful group with our raincoats on.

We only took apples for a snack but we sat and ate them on the beach.

An enjoyable thing about the cabin was the hot tub. I have decided that I would like to have a hot tub at my house. Wonder if that will happen anytime soon?

Edgar the Xtracycle

I went the store today after school drop off and crosswalk duty. We were out of fruit so not too much stuff and I would bring it back on my bike. 

Well.

There were a bunch of sales and I remembered other things we were out of. $ 300 later I am loading probably over 100 pounds of groceries on my bike. 

Edgar the Edgerunner (my bike) is the hero of the day!

The bananas had to ride in my shoulder bag. 

And thanks to my low gearing I was able to ride up the hill in first. I don't know how easy it would have been to get off and push that heavy thing up the hill anyway.

This is the tree two days ago by the elementary school. 

And it's not the earliest bloomer in town.

Sunday lunch. He cooked himself. Nice!

The other Sunday lunch. Also cooked himself. Fried potatoes, mushrooms, chili and Parmesan.
