Wednesday October 22

This is the most words I have ever seen in a parking space! This is at Uptown in the large subterranean parking right the Future Shop entrance.
There was so much wind last night that the flag at the school was completely wrapped around the pole.
The over the back fence neighbours have ducks and we came home in the middle of the day to find them in front of our house on the driveway. Eva and I herded them back to our back yard and then over the fence. They couldn't figure out that we meant for them to go over until Eva went in really close and picked up one of the smaller ones and chucked it over.
Ducks really move differently than chickens do. There's this continual swaying and shifting of weight and their head movements are swoops instead of jerky.
I was laying in bed last night looking out the window at the Garry oak in the backyard getting blown all over the place by the wind.
Backyard Gale

Gustily blowing, the wind is barging past, rushing here and there. It takes its firm hand to the Garry oak to tousle the branches and muss its leafy twigs.

Cheers,

Lise

Monday October 20

It was Subway day at the elementary school and I am always there because I am one if the organizers. I went into Tobin's class and his friend had made himself a lovely hat from the bag.
I have a bush in my front yard which is like a kind of salal. It has white flowers shaped  just like the dark salal berries and also has these pendulous orange fruits. The bees love it.
The fruits are really pretty.
Eva and I went and had lunch at La Taquisa. I reccomend it. Lots of gluten free choices for me and tasty. I can't show you a picture of my food because I ate it all.
And I guess it's flu shot season again.

Saturday October 11

We got invited to fabulous 40th birthday party. We got dressed up.
There was a bartender.
And drinks called French 75's which were really tasty.
And the best cake I've seen.
Tobin really liked it.

Wednesday October 1

We walked to our closest park on Sunday to kick a ball around a bit with the kids. I saw grapevines all up someone's front steps railings with ripe dark purple grape bunches hanging down everywhere.
And this holly tree was looking lovely.
And so was the bark of this plane tree in the park.
