Sunday at Durrance

We went back to Durrance Lake again today and hiked first. We were looking for a sort of summit where we would have our yummy pasties for lunch but made do with a big knoll.
We went that way.
It was hot but not so bad in the shade. After the hike we went for a swim, even my cold water averse husband. It was lovely.

By two, there were a ton of people there and someone waiting in the parking lot for our spot when left.
We were talking to a woman while sitting on a log out in the lake and she told us how she was swimming here one time and his thing came swimming directly toward her in the water. She knew it wasn't a dog but bought it might be a rat and got a little anxious. It turned out to be a big turtle who was also surprised by her and immediately nose dived below the surface  once it spotted her.
We didn't see any turtles today, just many humans with inflatable dinghies and air mattresses and some fishing rods.

  1. Eva looks SO hot and tired in that first picture. Lucky you got a spot to park in the shade. No wonder someone was waiting to take it over.
