Monday June 2

Today was a pro D day for Tobin's school only. So we had the day at home with just the two of us. In the art cabinet we found the yogurt box labelled 'cornmeal trucks'. There were tons of little tiny ants or weevils in it so we took out to the deck to play with it. I am always surprised that cornmeal in a closed plastic box is enough all my itself to sustain a whole colony of tiny bugs for I don't know how long.
Then I needed to have a go at the suite front steps whic have just recently become really rotten on the bottom two steps.
And this is the classic thing where a small job turns into a bigger job once you investigate a little bit.
The stairs need new stringers so I need to figure out how to take them off the house without dismantling them completely so I can out them back again more easily. However, the screws are very painted over so I first need to see if I can get the paint out of the screw heads in order to undo them.
It's a good thing the weather is so nice and sunny. It makes anything more cheerful. Even outdoor steps overhauling.
